You'll learn how to plan a route, communicate with other road-users, take the safest position on the road and anticipate others' behaviour to ride confidently in busy traffic. If you're still a novice rider, you'll learn bike-control and skills in a quiet area first.

With one-to-one coaching from an expert instructor, you'll get personal support to learn the skills to get out on the road. We will meet you at a place of your choice, during the day or evening, and put you through real-life road riding situations.

Free family confidence training

Learn how to ride safely as a group

Our bespoke family training provides guidance on how to safely cycle as a family group on the road. We will teach confident adults how to lead a journey and how children should ride within the group. If you are not confident on the roads yourself, please consider attending a Road Rider Ready session or request a 1-2-1 training session prior to this.

Sessions are open to all ages, but children must be able to cycle and control their bikes confidently. If you are interested in a course, simply register and one of our instructors will be in touch. The first session will then work with the adults to learn the principles, ahead of a subsequent session bringing the children into the group.

Sessions will be designed to suit you, including taking place at a time and location of your choice.

All participants will need their own roadworthy bike and can wear whatever they feel comfortable cycling in. The sessions are delivered close to your home, or a place which is convenient. Each session lasts two hours.
