Crossing upgrades to improve links to current cycling routes and create safer, direct routes to key areas. A new parallel signalised crossing at Salmonfields will connect existing routes, creating a safe off-road walking and cycling route from Royton to the Shaw Road/Higginshaw Lane industrial area. Improvements also include a new off-road surface and re-grading of existing steeply sloped path up to Higginshaw Lane.
