An Active Neighbourhood in Ordsall, where the movement of people is prioritised over motor traffic. This scheme will put the movement, health and safety of local residents first, reducing rat-running through the neighbourhood. It will create a nicer experience for those travelling to join public transport by foot or by bike.
It will allow people to travel between Manchester city centre and Ordsall riverside and Salford Quays on foot or by bike, easily and safely. This work includes 10 junction upgrades, six new parallel crossings and 0.6 miles of light protected cycle lanes.
Initial consultation on this scheme took place in January 2020.
