Scheme A56 Dunham Road / Gorsey Lane
Busy roads create community severance and can lead to residents feeling they have no choice but to take the car, even on short trips. This TfGM project will strategically place crossings across GM to unlock a significant portion of the Bee Network

The plan is to improve the cycling and walking facilities on Dunham Road at the junction with Gorsey Lane, Altrincham. The new crossing will provide a much-needed facility for local school children across a busy main road.
The improvements include:
A new segregated cycling and walking crossing across Dunham Road at the junction with Gorsey Lane.
Gorsey Lane will be made one-way in a southerly direction from the church access to its junction with Dunham Road.
A bus stop/coach parking bay will be introduced on St Margaret’s Road (west side) south of its junction with Devisdale Road, for school bus drop-offs and pick-ups.
Existing double yellow lines parking restrictions on the east side of St Margaret’s Road and the north side of Devisdale Road will be extended.
