Our team attends community events and runs Active Travel Roadshows across Greater Manchester all year round.
Active Travel Roadshows
Our Active Travel Roadshow events showcase and celebrate Active Travel across Greater Manchester. With a variety of fun, informative and engaging stalls from TfGM and other organisations, the roadshows support more people to walk, wheel or cycle in their local area.
Women and girls get active event, The Bowl, Heaton Park, Friday 24 July, from 10am - 2.30pm
Women and girls make a move this summer! Come along to our free event for all ages and give walking or cycling a go. This family-friendly event is sure to be fun and inspiring for everyone - both young and old alike.
Join a guided walk or bike ride (including women-only sessions) to take in some of Heaton Park’s best scenery, history and heritage. Plus get free advice and bike repairs from Dr Bike, learn about free e-bike hire, or join in the fun and speak to inspirational local women in the dedicated celebration area.

Community events
Chat to our active travel experts at community events about how you can start walking, wheeling or cycling in your area. Information is also on hand about courses to improve your confidence or ability . We’ll also have free goodies to giveaway.
Romiley Community Event at Romiley Park, Romiley, Stockport SK6 4NE, Saturday 4 July, 11am - 3pm. Families from all across Stockport are invited to come along and enjoy a whole host of free activities at this community event, including led bike rides, a Dr Bike service with free basic repairs. Greater Manchester Police will be providing security bike marking. There will also be face painting, nature walk, an Interactive Invertebrate Display and your chance to add to Dave Draws Romiley Doodle Map. TfGM will be attending to provide free active travel advice and information.
Black Unity Bike Ride and Fest, Alexandra Park, Manchester M16 7JL, Sunday 5 July, from 10:00am to 5:00pm
Black Unity Bike Ride (BUBR) Manchester returns for its second year, following a strong and successful debut in the city. The ride celebrates black culture, community, and cycling, bringing together hundreds of riders from across Greater Manchester and beyond for a day rooted in connection, pride, and collective joy. The day continues at the finish line with BUBR Fest, a free, family-friendly celebration where riders are joined by friends, family, and the wider community. With music, food, and space to come together, TfGM will also be attending to provide advice on how you can walk, wheel and cycle more often.
Cycle Three Sisters at Three Sisters Race Circuit, Wigan. Tuesday 4 August, 1.30pm - 8pm. Families from all across the borough are invited to come along and enjoy a whole host of free bike-based activities on and off the track. Most activities run from 3pm to 8pm. From 1.30pm-2.45pm there is also a dedicated opportunity for those with balance bikes, bikes with stabilisers and adapted bikes only to have a go on the main circuit.
