Our team attends community events and runs Active Travel Roadshows across Greater Manchester all year round.
Community events
Chat to our active travel experts at community events about how you can start walking, wheeling or cycling in your area. Information is also on hand about courses to improve your confidence or ability . We’ll also have free goodies to giveaway.
Make Tracks on Chapel Street, Sacred Trinity Church & New Bailey, Salford, Saturday 19 September 2026, 1pm — 5pm
Join us for a celebration of moving to mark the new pedestrian and cycling routes. Build up your cycling confidence along the brand-new Chapel Street cycle route, or get your bike fixed for free! There are loads of ways to get involved on the day: try out cargo and accessible bikes with Manchester Bikes, join a guided bike ride with Bee Pedal Ready - book here (bring your own bike), learn to fix your bike with Dr Bike – book here (select Services (Other) > Make Tracks Dr Bike Booking), join a walking tour with Jonathan Schofield* – book here, learn more about discounts for car-free visits to RHS Garden Bridgewater or get tips and advice about walking, cycling or wheeling! Neighbourhood Nature Fair, Brunswick Church, Brunswick St, Manchester, M13 9SX - Saturday 3 October from 2:30pm – 7pm
Everyone’s welcome at this neighbourhood event. Come all afternoon and evening or just drop in when you can. Learn to ride a bike or get your bike repaired, create a bottle-top mural, plant herbs or learn more about nature, get money and energy saving tips or help for home improvements, enjoy cakes and refreshments plus much more.
Active Travel Roadshows
Our Active Travel Roadshow events showcase and celebrate Active Travel across Greater Manchester. With a variety of fun, informative and engaging stalls from TfGM and other organisations, the roadshows support more people to walk, wheel or cycle in their local area.
Walk on the Wildside, Nicolas Street, Manchester - Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 September from 8am - 6pm
Join us as we celebrate Nature in the City. Over two days we’ll have plenty of activity to support you walking and cycling more. Come down and speak to us and get involved: Free Starling Bikes with vouchers, TfGM information stall and giveaways (on both days from 8am -6pm), Manchester Bikes E Cargo bike display on Tuesday 22nd September only, Walking Mums Club, free bike checks and quick servicing through Dr Bike and much more.
