Scheme description
This proposal seeks to rebalance the area around the marketplace and Underbanks to support active travel as well as further provision for outdoor hospitality and open-air markets. The scheme will provide improved walking and cycling links through the most historic parts of the town centre and St Petersgate, linking and expanding the reach of the proposed Edgeley to Stockport Town Centre Mayor’s Challenge Fund Scheme. This scheme will be subject to full public consultation and approvals process once proposals have been further developed.
