We know cycling can feel daunting, whether you’re just learning, haven’t cycled in a while or would feel safer cycling in a group to navigate your local area.
That’s why we’re working with community groups to offer you help and tips to becoming a confident cyclist.
Our women-led cycling groups ensure you get the support you need in a safe and welcoming environment without judgement. Whether you want to ride a short way to a café or want to get confident on the roads our Greater Manchester’s women-led groups cater for all needs.

Learn to ride and build confidence
If you’re new to cycling or want to build confidence, these sessions are a great place to start.
Krimmz: Fun, supervised cycling sessions designed for women in our community. No experience needed, bikes and helmets provided.
Yuvanis Foundation: Ladies learn to ride in Oldham and Rochdale.
Aspire to Inspire: Ladies only learn to ride and led rides.
Your Trust: Women-only cycling sessions alongside a range of health and wellbeing activities to support people to stay active.

Joy Riders: A friendly, women-focused cycling group offering supported rides for all levels, from beginners to more experienced riders. Sessions take place on quiet routes with trained leaders, creating a relaxed, sociable environment to build confidence, meet others and enjoy cycling - no experience or special kit needed.
Sisterhood Cycling Collective: A women’s focused cycling group based in South Manchester dedicated to empowering riders of all skill levels.
Breeze: Breeze offers fun, free, inclusive led bike rides for women of all abilities across the UK, supported by British Cycling.
Station South: Women led rides for all genders, beginner friendly to longer and technical rides.
Tameside Women’s Community Cycling Group: Tameside Women’s Community Cycling Group are a friendly group of women of all ages and experience wanting to help empower women through cycling. Whether you are new to cycling or rediscovering the joy of riding a bike; a complete beginner or just a little bit out of practice; why not come along to one of their free women-only sessions.
Bike It Walk It: A non-profit based in North Manchester, passionate about helping people move more, travel sustainably, and feel connected to their community. From friendly group rides and wellbeing walks to bike maintenance workshops, they create opportunities across Greater Manchester for people of all ages and abilities to build confidence, learn new skills, and enjoy healthier journeys.
The Manchester and District Ladies Cycling Association: The Manchester and District Ladies Cycling Association was formed to encourage ladies’ cycle racing, especially Time Trials. Membership is open to individuals and clubs in the Manchester area.
Bee Pedal Ready: Whether you're a seasoned cyclist or just starting out, Bee Pedal Ready will welcome you with open arms and supportive smiles.
Lady Pedal: A Manchester women’s cycling community offering rides, events and opportunities to build confidence on the bike, including sessions focused on helping women feel safer and more confident cycling.

Still Her: Buggy walks for mums in Alexandra Park, Oldham.
Mums Club: Community group for mums offering social meet-ups, monthly walks and activities to build connections and support wellbeing.
Active Travel/Your Trust: Range of cycling activities including adult learn to ride, improver sessions and women-only cycling sessions, alongside walking and family activities.

Thursdays: All abilities welcome All equipment provided (skateboard, helmet, wrist guards, knee & elbow pads). Under 15s 6pm – 7:30pm / Over 15s 7:30pm – 9pm.
BMX Women and Girls - National Cycling Centre, Manchester
Wednesdays, 7pm to 8pm: These specialised BMX sessions are designed to empower and engage female cyclists of all skill levels. You don't need prior BMX experience; all that's required is the ability to ride a bike. This is an exciting opportunity to build your cycling skills, make new friends, and experience the thrill of BMX in a safe, supportive environment. Become part of Manchester's vibrant women's cycling community and enhance your love for the sport with us every week. Sessions are for age 14+.
Trafford Evening Breeze - Meet at the corner of Dane Road and Danefield Road, M33 7QH.
Thursdays: This is a series of social rides over the summer, join in as many as you like. Lots of traffic-free paths and low traffic roads. Occasional main roads, when necessary. Everyone is welcome to join us. Please bring: water, snack, spare inner tube that fits your bike, gloves and coat.

Fridays: Easy-going social rides for women. Bikes and helmets available to borrow. Suitable for beginners and those building confidence.
Horwich Ride Social Restart Cycling - Queens Park
Mondays: Free session aimed at getting ladies back into cycling.
Women-only beginner cycling training - For you if you can’t ride a bike but fancy giving it a go, in a session with other women. Bike and helmet provided.
